A historical landmark and tourist attraction in the city, Sala São Paulo is located in the Júlio Prestes Cultural Complex. It is home to the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and also hosts artists and other national and international groups.
The Sala São Paulo
The history
A train station that became a concert hall, Sala São Paulo was inaugurated on 9 July 1999, the day it was listed as a historical heritage site by the Council for the Defence of Historical, Archaeological, Artistic and Tourist Heritage of the State of São Paulo (Condephaat).
The architectural project
Over two years of intense work, the garden of the old train station was transformed into a concert hall. Today it is known as one of the best venues for classical music in the world.
The acoustics
With unique acoustic features and properties, Sala São Paulo is an ideal venue for classical music, from symphonic concerts to chamber music and solo recitals.
Tactile model
Inaugurated on our 25th anniversary, the tactile model is an accessibility resource that helps the visually impaired, motor-disabled, and cognitively impaired audience understand the architectural complexity of the Concert Hall.
