Osesp Young Soloist Music Competition is one of the main classical music competitions in Brazil. Created in the 1940s by conductor Eleazar de Carvalho [1912-1996] and initially organised by the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB), the competition was resumed by the Osesp Foundation in 2017. The winners have the opportunity to play with Osesp as soloists in concerts at Sala São Paulo.
Previous winners of the competition include pianist Arnaldo Cohen and violinist Guido Sant’Anna, as well as several members of Osesp, such as violinists Davi Graton, Igor Sarudiansky, Paulo Paschoal, and Soraya Landim, double bassist Jefferson Collacico, flautists Fabíola Alves and Sávio Araújo, oboist Natan Albuquerque Jr. (who won as pianist), clarinetists Ovanir Buosi and Nivaldo Orsi, French horn players José Costa Filho and Eduardo Minczuk, percussionist Eduardo Gianesella, and trombonists Alex Tartaglia and Wagner Polistchuk.
